Scholar-in-residence, Dr. David Grafton, presenting “convivencia” June 28-29, 2018: multifaith relationships between and within families

Goal: To use the historical setting of Spain’s Andalusia to engender discussions about interfaith relationships between and within families. The concept is that it is not that people of different religious communities co-exist, or even tolerate one another, in the same space; but rather that various religions and beliefs co-exist within the same family or between families who are in caring, committed and deep relationships.

The Rev. Dr. David D. Grafton is the Professor of Islamic Studies and Christian-Muslim Relations on the faculty of the Duncan Black Macdonald Center for the Study of Islam and Christian-Muslim Relations at Hartford Seminary, the oldest center of its kind in the United States.
